ZetuPay: M-Pesa STK Push, card payments and payouts for Kenyan businesses.

ZetuPay is a Kenyan payment gateway for M-Pesa STK Push, card payments and B2C payouts, with no percentage fees: you pay a flat fee per payment or a fixed plan. Businesses connect through a REST API, hosted checkout, payment links or a WooCommerce plugin, without registering for Safaricom Daraja. M-Pesa payments settle straight to the merchant’s own paybill, till or bank account; ZetuPay never holds their sales.

How a ZetuPay M-Pesa STK Push works: a merchant’s server sends POST /api/v1/payment/stk-push for KES 2,450 and gets a 202 “processing” reply, the customer’s phone shows the M-Pesa prompt to pay Kilele Mart and asks for their PIN, and ZetuPay then posts a webhook with status “success” to the merchant’s callback URL, signed with HMAC-SHA256 in the x-zetupay-signature header.

  • Skip the Daraja app registration, certificates and callback hosting: ZetuPay runs the Safaricom integration for you.
  • Keep your existing paybill or till number, so customers pay the number they already know.
  • Confirm orders automatically with signed webhooks instead of checking an M-Pesa phone against an order list.
  • Send payouts where the fee is added on top, so the recipient gets the exact amount.

Features

Everything ZetuPay does

STK Push in one API call · Settle to your own paybill, till or bank · B2C payouts from KES 3

  • M-Pesa STK Push API

One REST call sends an M-Pesa prompt to the customer’s phone; they approve with their PIN and never leave your site. Idempotency keys stop a retry from sending a second prompt.

  • Settle to your own account

Link your own M-Pesa paybill, till (Buy Goods) or a supported Kenyan bank account. Card payments land in your own Stripe account.

  • No Daraja credentials needed

ZetuPay sends prompts through its own Daraja integration and handles the certificates and callback endpoints, so you never register or renew Daraja apps.

  • Hosted checkout and cards

A hosted checkout page offers M-Pesa and Visa, Mastercard and American Express (with 3-D Secure), in KES, USD, EUR or GBP, styled to your brand.

  • B2C payouts to M-Pesa and bank

Top up a payout balance with an M-Pesa prompt, then pay people by dashboard or API. A banded fee from KES 3 is added on top of the amount sent.

  • Signed webhooks

Payment, payout and subscription events are POSTed to your callback URL, signed with HMAC-SHA256, and retried up to six times if your server is down.

  • WooCommerce M-Pesa plugin

A free plugin for WordPress 6.2+ adds M-Pesa to classic and block checkout, with HPOS support, and confirms orders through status checks and webhooks.

  • Invoices, payment links and QR codes

Send invoices customers can pay by M-Pesa prompt, card or paybill, including part-payments, and share payment links or QR codes for a fixed or open amount.

  • Payout controls and security

Approval policies, amount limits, scheduled payouts, team roles, two-factor sign-in, IP restrictions and separate test and live API keys.

How it works

How ZetuPay works

  1. Apply

Fill in the Get Started form on zetupay.co.ke. ZetuPay reviews it and emails you a link to create your account.

  2. Verify and connect

Verify your business once, create a wallet, and link your paybill, till or bank account. Add Stripe keys if you take cards.

  3. Integrate

Copy your API key and callback URL into your app, or install the WooCommerce plugin. One API call starts a payment.

  4. Get paid

The customer approves the M-Pesa prompt, the money settles to you, and a signed webhook tells your system to fulfil the order.

FAQ

ZetuPay questions, answered

What is ZetuPay?

ZetuPay is a Kenyan payment gateway for M-Pesa STK Push, card payments and B2C payouts, built by Quickwave Technologies. Businesses use its REST API, hosted checkout, payment links or WooCommerce plugin to take payments. It charges no percentage fee, only a flat fee per payment or a fixed plan, and payments settle to your own paybill, till or bank.

How much does ZetuPay cost?

ZetuPay charges no percentage fee. You pay a flat charge per successful payment with prepaid service tokens, or take a monthly, quarterly or annual plan with unlimited payments. B2C payouts cost from KES 3, and optional SMS receipts KES 1 each.

Does ZetuPay hold my money?

No. Customer payments go straight into your own paybill, till or bank account, and card payments into your own Stripe account. ZetuPay never collects or holds your sales; the only balance it keeps is what you top up to fund your own payouts.

Do I need my own Safaricom Daraja credentials?

No. ZetuPay sends STK prompts through its own Daraja integration and handles the certificates and callbacks, so you do not have to register or maintain a Daraja app.

Can I keep my existing paybill or till number?

Yes. You connect the paybill or Buy Goods till you already have, and customers keep paying the same number.

Can I accept M-Pesa on WooCommerce without coding?

Yes. Install the free ZetuPay Payment Gateway plugin, paste your API keys and callback URL, and M-Pesa appears at checkout. It supports classic and block checkout and WooCommerce HPOS.

Is there a sandbox for testing?

No. Test and live keys both send real prompts and move real money, so test with a small amount such as KES 10 from your own phone. Payments made with test keys are labelled as test.

How do I know a payment succeeded?

ZetuPay sends a webhook to your callback URL, signed with HMAC-SHA256. You can also query the payment status endpoint, which returns the M-Pesa result code for failed payments, such as 1032 when a customer cancels the prompt.
