What is web development?
Web development is the design and build of websites, online shops and web applications. Quickwave builds business websites, WooCommerce and custom e-commerce stores, customer portals and SaaS dashboards for companies in Kenya, with M-Pesa payments, fast pages and search-ready markup from the first release. Our own web products, ZetuPay, Wave POS and SiteScore AI, are built with the same tools.

Stores on WooCommerce or a custom Laravel build, with M-Pesa STK Push at checkout through ZetuPay or Safaricom Daraja, and orders confirmed automatically by webhook instead of by hand.
Web apps and SaaS dashboards
Customer portals, admin back offices and multi-tenant SaaS with roles, reports and Excel, CSV or PDF exports, including installable apps that keep working offline, like the Wave POS till.
Speed and Core Web Vitals
Pages pre-rendered to static HTML where possible, self-hosted fonts, sized images and lean JavaScript, built to meet Google’s Core Web Vitals targets: LCP of 2.5 s or less, INP of 200 ms or less and CLS of 0.1 or less.
SEO and AI-search readiness
Unique titles and descriptions, JSON-LD structured data, a sitemap, robots.txt and llms.txt, with copy in the HTML so AI assistants can read it. Before launch we audit the site with SiteScore AI.
Hosting, launch and care
Hosting on Vercel, a VPS or your existing cPanel account, with HTTPS and automatic deployments through GitHub Actions or Vercel. After launch we stay on for fixes, updates and new features.

Design
We design the key pages and flows for phone and desktop, and you approve them before any build starts.
Build and test
You follow progress on a preview link. We test payments with small real M-Pesa amounts and check speed and SEO with SiteScore AI.
Launch and support
We go live, redirect old URLs, submit the sitemap to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, and stay on for support.

Web development: common questions
How much does a website cost in Kenya?
It depends on what the site has to do. We send a written, itemised quote after a short discovery call, so you see the cost of each page, feature and integration before work starts. A brochure site costs far less than an online shop or web app with M-Pesa and user accounts.
How long does it take to build a website?
It depends on scope. A marketing website is the quickest to build, while online shops and web apps with payments and user accounts take longer. Your quote sets out a timeline with milestones, and you can follow progress on a preview link.
Can you add M-Pesa to my website or online shop?
Yes. We add M-Pesa STK Push checkout through ZetuPay, which settles to your own paybill, till or bank account, or through a direct Safaricom Daraja integration. WooCommerce stores can use the free ZetuPay plugin, which works with classic and block checkout.
Do you build on WordPress and WooCommerce?
Yes, when it suits the project. WordPress and WooCommerce work well for content sites and shops your team will edit themselves. We build in Laravel or Next.js when you need custom workflows, user accounts or integrations a plugin cannot handle.
Will my website be ready for Google and AI search tools like ChatGPT?
Yes. Every site we build has its copy in the HTML, structured data, a sitemap and fast pages, so search engines and AI assistants can read it. Before launch we audit it with SiteScore AI, our own tool, which also tests whether AI assistants name your business, though nobody can honestly guarantee a ranking.
Do you set up hosting and maintain the website after launch?
Yes. We set up hosting on the provider you choose, such as Vercel, a VPS or your existing cPanel account, ideally in an account your business owns. We are not a hosting company, but we deploy your updates and stay on after launch for fixes and new features.
